AEV achieve ISO14001 environmental standard.

Over the past 15 years AEV have operated and implemented a quality system to manage and control its operations. It is currently accredited to ISO9001:2004 for management of this process.

It was however realised that demands and needs from our broadening business base would need further support. Therefore a decision to adopt and affect an environmental management process would demonstrate to our client base, our sound business practices.

In May 2012 we undertook a process (with the help and support of the Manufacturing Advisory Service and Groundwork Pennine Lancashire) to implement the requirements of ISO 14001:2004. It was realised in the early stages of development of the system, due to the complicated European and UK laws and particular legislation appertaining to the business, this process would not be a simple task or indeed be fully implemented quickly.

The environmental management system, EMS, was tailored to the business operations. An Environmental Management Group was set up from within the workforce, who implemented the necessary changes in practises and more importantly brought their collective ideas to the table.

The eighteen months since the commencement of this process have now passed, and AEV are proud to announce that in September 2013, they received accreditation to the required standards of BS EN ISO14001: 2004, through NQA who also accredit our Quality System.

AEV, Europe’s leading independent manufacturer of electrical varnishes and resins, are proud of their achievements in producing a sustainable practise conforming to their EMS, and will continue to develop and manufacture environmentally friendly solutions and practices for its worldwide market.
